Passenger escapes with broken leg despite being hit by a train while attempting to cross railway

A passenger had a lucky escape after he was hit by a train when he decided to cross a railway track.

The man's attempt was caught on CCTV, and shows the moment he was trapped between the carriage and the platform when the train pulled in.

He was left with fractures in one leg after the incident, and police in North Rhine-Westphalia, in west Germany, have shared the video as a warning to others.
