This is the moment a drug addict lost his bottle during a raid on a newsagent after pointing his gun 'Dirty Harry' style at the shopkeeper.
John Sandys is seen hanging around the entrance to the shop as he waits for a customer to leave.
He then approaches the counter and points a .44 Magnum - the same gun used in the iconic film - at shopkeeper Matty Ambikaibaka.
Sandys then appears confused, as if trying to establish where the man is before walking out of the shop empty-handed, reports the Liverpool Echo .
Six days later, on May 27 this year, Sandys went on to raid two more shops.
After a CCTV appeal officers received an anonymous tip-off naming Sandys, which led to his arrest.
He claimed one of the two weapons he used during the spree was the .44 Magnum, but neither gun was ever recovered.
The court heard that Sandys, a cannabis addict, collected just £200 and eight packs of cigarettes from the raids, and he was sentenced to six years in prison.
At the time Mr Ambikaibaka told the Echo: "He had a gun and told me to empty the till. I turned around and ran into the back of the shop. We then phoned the police. The man with the gun just walked out a few minutes later."
Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, told Sandys it was clear he was "a very dangerous young man."
Speaking after the sentencing, Mr Ambikaibaka told the Echo: "The police did a very good job."
