Heroic bystanders stop a gang of car jackers from fleeing in a stolen car with an amazing act of solidarity.
The have-a-go heroes stepped in when the driver was dragged out of his car by the gang of thugs.
As the man tries to let himself into his car, he is jumped by four would-be robbers.
They beat and kick him and leave him sprawled on the pavement.
The gang then climb into his car and try to drive off - but they don't count on the community spirit of those who witnessed the attack.
First the driver springs back to his car to try to stop them getting away.
He is quickly joined by five neighbours, who surround the car and punch and batter the windows.
Meanwhile the trapped crooks try desperately to ram a car parked in front of them out of the way.
Some of the vigilantes run back to their houses and collect some pipes with which to fight the would-be crooks.
Finally, the thugs give up and flee on foot, but are slapped and clubbed as they run a gauntlet of vigilantes between them and their getaway car.
The video has become a huge hit in Mexico, where violent crime and official corruption are rife.
One media commentator hailed it a "clear sign of solidarity and courage".
Earlier this week a woman and her baby were pushed out of their car in a shocking car jacking.
CCTV footage was released allegedly showing four armed murder suspects wielding rifles while attempting to carjack a woman and her 11-month-old niece on Monday.
The suspects are linked to an earlier shooting in the area that killed one man and injured another. One of the suspects has been arrested, but the other three remain at large.
The horrific video shows a group of men in hoodies ditching a car before dragging a woman out of another vehicle in south Houston, Texas, US.
As she falls to the pavement, she appears to be carrying an infant's car seat.
Neither the woman nor the baby were hurt in the incident, Chron.com reports.
The suspects are then seen clambering into her car before slamming the doors behind them.
According to police, the suspects are linked to an earlier shooting in the area that left 53-year-old Sam Johnson dead and 22-year-old Walter Fields injured.
