The F-35B is a STOVL (Short TakeOff / Vertical Landing) variant of the F-35A; this version has a vertically integrated blower in the fuselage, aft of the cockpit (used only for take-off or landing), as well as a main nozzle that can be turned downwards. The blower is connected to the low pressure turbine of the main reactor. Internal fuel capacity is reduced by 24% compared to the F-35A.
