This is the horrifying moment an elderly lady was just centimetres away from being struck by a BMW as she crosses the road.
Dashcam footage of the incident shows the woman dash on to a pedestrian crossing in Graveley Hill, Birmingham, without realising a BMW convertible 4 series is about to speed past.
She was only prevented from an accident when the car behind, which contained a driving instructor and his pupil, honked its horn causing her to stop and the white car to narrowly avoid her.
She is then seen raising her hand in acknowledgement to the quick-thinking driving instructor who reached over to beep the horn in his learner vehicle.
As the BMW speeds onwards on the A5127 towards the Gravelly Hill High Street, the lights turn green and the shaken woman hurries along to reach the safety of the pavement.
