On Tuesday night, things got heated between Pamela Geller and Geraldo Rivera in the wake of the terrorist attack that took place this afternoon in New York City.
The feud began when Rivera claimed that the NYPD had the “best surveillance,” but Geller insisted it was “dismantled” by CAIR and Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“They’ve been disarmed,” Geller said. “Last week, a jury convicted a Muslim jihadi in a plot to behead me in an ISIS-inspired attack.”
Rivera shot back saying this was the first successful terrorist attack in NYC since 9/11.
“When you guys talk about Muslims being the devil,” Rivera continued, “you overlook the fact that––”
“Who said that?” Geller interrupted. “Why do I have to pat on the back every Muslim that doesn’t want to kill me? I expect that. We’re not talking about ‘all Muslims.’ We’re talking about jihadis. Stop conflating them together. Stop broad brushing Muslims all as jihadis.”
Rivera then mentioned how 4% of the U.S. population is Muslim, which Geller called “irrelevant.”
“What you have to do now is good police work, good surveillance, pass those sections of the Patriot Act that have lapsed,” Rivera said.
“They’ve been dismantled,” Geller repeated. “NYPD had to dismantle their counterterrorism program. Thank you, Mayor de Blasio. Remember that in the election booth.”
