"DISTRACTION" Is What Democrats Are Calling Their Former LEADERS Admission on Rigging the Election and Debates

Rep. Mike Quigley (D., Ill.) shrugged off Donna Brazile's claims about the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries being rigged in favor of Hillary Clinton as a "distraction."



CNN's Poppy Harlow asked Quigley on Friday about Brazile's claims, which have highlighted divisions within the Democratic Party.



"It is, indeed, a distraction and it's just one more example of insulting the American public, ‘look at this shiny object instead of the most important investigation in our country's history since Watergate,’" Quigley said. "The allegations that she talks about in the book are well worth investigating. The Democratic Party needs to look at itself long and hard to make sure our process is appropriate, but it is by no means comparable to what's taking place in the Mueller investigation."



Brazile, who served as interim chairperson of the DNC during the 2016 primaries, makes allegations in her upcoming book that an arrangement was made between the DNC and Clinton, allowing the presidential candidate to oversee DNC spending.



Quigley went on to say that calling the Democratic primaries "rigged" was too much, and Harlow asked him to pick his own word of choice. Instead, the Democratic representative called the allegations a "distraction" again, and accused the president of working with Russians during the campaign.



Some Democratic leaders this week, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hawaii), have agreed that the Democratic primaries were rigged.
