This is the horrifying moment a man attempted to snatch a seven-year-old girl who was left on her own in a shop.
The incident at the convenience store in Cai Bian village, south-east China , was captured on CCTV .
It shows the 36-year-old suspect casually striding into the shop and noticing the young girl stacking shelves behind the counter.
After checking that no one else was in the shop, the man crept up behind the child and grabbed her before carrying her outside.
The alleged kidnapper, who police have named only as Huang, was reportedly caught by passersby.
Witnesses said they saw distressed child with the suspect who appeared to be drunk, according to local media .
She was 'crying' and it attracted the attention of locals who went to investigate, detectives said.
The police were called and Huang was arrested.
He told detectives he had been drinking and had no memory of the incident on November 7.
The child was reportedly uninjured and returned home by detectives.
