UCLA men's basketball players LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley held an on-campus news conference Wednesday to deliver statements about their recent arrests in China.
The three, who returned to Los Angeles on Tuesday, were detained by police on Nov. 7 in Hangzhou, China, after shoplifting from several stores.
No questions to the players were allowed.
"I would like to say sorry for stealing from the stores in China," said Ball. "I didn't exercise my best judgement."
Ball, the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball, thanked President Donald Trump, the Chinese government, and apologized to UCLA and his family.
Riley and Hill also thanked Trump during the news conference.
Trump tweeted Wednesday morning that the three players were facing a 10-year prison sentence.
