The shocking moment a transgender woman was shot from close range after two savage robbers approached her in the street was captured on camera.
The 36-year-old was rushed to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
She was shot in Detroit, US, on Friday morning in an what was described as an unprovoked attack.
Police had a description of the suspects' vehicle and tried stopping it nearby.
However, it took off and police chased it a short distance. Both suspects abandoned the red car and fled on foot.
Officers arrested a third suspect, a 29-year-old man, and have since recovered a gun.
Police are now trawling through CCTV in the area as investigations continue.
It comes as, in the UK, Theresa May promised to "demadicalise" the process of changing gender in a recent speech in London recently.
"Because being trans is not an illness. And it shouldn't be treated as such," the Prime Minister said.
