President Trump visited and helped hand out food to Coast Guardsmen in Riviera Beach, Florida on Thanksgiving.
Joined by first lady Melania Trump, the president congratulated service members on their rescue efforts in Texas after Hurricane Harvey.
He said that the country is doing well, citing record stock numbers and rising employment.
"It's nice that you're working for something that's really starting to work," the president told the troops.
As he handed out snacks, he joked that he would "be in trouble" in an arm-wrestling contest with one particularly in-shape Guardsman.
"Could I beat him in an arm-wrestling contest? ... I think I'd be in trouble," he joked as he shook hands.
The president also spoke with service members in Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, and aboard the U.S.S. Monterey on Thanksgiving.
