A thug tried to break through the window of a pawnbroker shop in broad daylight using a brick and his fists, a shock video shows.
The startling footage shows the helmet-wearing man throw the object at the glass of the business where there appears to be valuable items on display.
But when it only shattered the glass he then lashed out at it with a volley of punches in front of amazed onlookers, the Croydon Advertiser reported.
He still failed to penetrate it and, appearing frustrated, he then turns around and grabs the brick again.
The man then hurls the object but again fails to break through the shop window before giving up and walking away.
Crowds of shoppers were passing by as well as traffic in the incident outside Albemarle Bond Pawnbrokers, on George Street in Croydon.
