PUSHING LIMITS! Lamborghini just Released a 640HP SUV!! Called "Urus"

It’s not exactly a surprise, but Lamborghini has finally revealed its Urus SUV. The Italian super car brand has decided it needs to re-join the SUV revolution with a beastly 641 horsepower four-door.



The new Urus is sharing some of its underpinnings with the Porsche Cayenne, though Lambo has extensively modified things here. The deep modifications are readily evident by just looking at this SUV. With a two-thirds sheet metal to one-third glass ratio, the Urus looks the Lambo part. It’s low and menacing to look at and seems to successfully walk the line between Lambo and SUV.


What is all Lambo here is the power it is packing. Thanks to a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, the Urus generates a staggering 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. This power will funnel through an electro-hydraulic eight-speed automatic transmission and a torque converter to aid in the engine power. Power will then get sent to all four wheels via an all-wheel-drive system that defaults 40 percent to the front and 60 percent to the rear. The system will be able to send up to 70 percent of torque to the front and up to 87 percent to the rear, if conditions dictate.


The Urus is also utilizing the rear-steering system from the Aventador S. At low speeds the rear steering will counter-steer to enhance maneuverability; at high speeds it will steer in-phase with the front for stability.


Drivers will enjoy six drive modes with the Urus, all Italian hands (with the exception of “sport”). Each mode gives Urus a unique persona; changing everything from steering calibration to ride height.


Drive modes will be set from inside a cabin that reeks of luxury performance. The Urus interior pays homage to other Lamborghini interiors with its use of hexagonal design elements as well as a cockpit-like orientation. Lambo’s latest LIS infotainment system is in tow on an all-LCD control panel on the lower portion of the center stack.


Since the Urus is an SUV, perhaps it comes as little surprise that this Lambo features seating for four adults. It even has 12-way power heated front seats with optional 18-way units. Other creature comforts and electronic nannies are also found on this Italian super SUV, such as pre-collision assist.


Expect the Urus to pack around a $200,000 price tag in the U.S. when it goes on sale. Initial deliveries of Urus will commence in Europe in spring 2018.
