CNN’s MJ Lee took a shot at Congressional Democrats over their past silence on Sen. Al Franken’s (D-MN) sexual misconduct allegations, calling their refusal to speak out “remarkable.”
A flood of Democratic senators swept down on Franken on Wednesday, calling for their colleague’s resignation, but that did not impress the CNN reporter.
“Obviously this is something that we have been keeping track of over the past couple of weeks as these allegations of sexual harassment began to mount,” she said of Democratic criticism of Franken. “Up to this point, the silence was pretty remarkable.”
Lee also reported that Franken is a “popular colleague” among Democrats, and the liberal senators did not want to call for his resignation.
