Six people have been injured after an out of control car crashed into pedestrians on a pavement in New York.
The vehicle, a black Lincoln, is reported to have jumped a kerb in Manhattan near the World Trade Centre after striking at least two cars.
Pictures and footage from the scene show the car mostly on a pavement with a damage front.
Other images show a bike crushed under a Ford Explorer that is understood to have been hit by the Lincoln before it drove on to strike a Mercedes.
Officials said they received a call to the scene on Liberty Street and Broadway shortly before 1.30pm and that it does not appear to be terror related.
None of the victims are believed to have been seriously hurt and have been taken to a number of local hospitals. including Bellevue and Presbyterian Downtown.
A New York Police Department spokesman confirmed the Lincoln hit one vehicle at Liberty and Broadway before heading east for one block where it struck another vehicle then mounted the pavement.
The driver of the Lincoln, said to be aged in his 60s, has been detained and is being questioned.
According to NBC New York, both the Lincoln and Explorer had Taxi and License Commission number plates.
The site of the incident is less than a mile from the spot where eight people were killing and many injured in a truck attack last month.
Suspect Sayfullo Saipov pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and terror in relation to the attack.
He is next scheduled for a hearing on January 23.
