A gang who flew drugs , mobile phones and TV boxes into prisons using hi-tech drones were jailed on Wednesday after they were caught on cameras set to film wildlife.
The group, led by a serving inmate, smuggled goods into seven prisons in England and Scotland using the technique.
Members of the gang flew the remote-controlled drones equipped with a fishing line and hooks to cell windows.
Inmates in contact with the pilot then used tools such as extendable broom handles to retrieve the contraband.
Jail CCTV showed other prisoners visiting the cells and walking out with packages containing the goods.
But cameras set up to film wildlife outside HMP Hewell in Worcestershire caught the gang by chance while they were smuggling contraband into the prison.
