'The investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign has been crooked from the jump. But the scary part is we may now have proof the investigation was weaponized to destroy his presidency'
Fox News Saturday night descended into the realm of conspiracy theory in a Jesse Watters segment suggesting there may be an anti-Trump "coup in America" right now.
Watters' segment focused on the recently revealed anti-Trump text messages sent to a lawyer by fired FBI agent Peter Strzok. Watters concluded the text messages are “smoking gun evidence” that the FBI has been compromised and that agents investigating Trump are trying to help Hillary Clinton and remove Trump from office.
“The investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign has been crooked from the jump. But the scary part is we may now have proof the investigation was weaponized to destroy his presidency for partisan political purposes and to disenfranchise millions of American voters. Now, if that’s true, we have a coup on our hands in America," claims Watters.
Watters later interviewed Kellyanne Conway to discuss the FBI and Donald Trump's recent attacks on the Bureau. Watters' interview with Conway ran with "Coup in America?" as the chyron below a split screen of the two.
