A bouncer was forced to have shards of glass removed from under his eye after a woman hurled a wine glass in his face at a nightclub.
The man, in his 30s, had witnessed an altercation between two men at Gabeto nightclub on Chalk Farm Road in London and had tried to intervene.
But as he went over to the group, an empty wine glass was thrown at him by a woman standing nearby, according to police.
The victim was treated at a north London hospital to remove glass from underneath his right eye.
Detectives are now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident, which occurred at 2.10am on Saturday, October 14.
