Donald Trump Jr. went to bat for his father on Twitter Tuesday afternoon after rapper Eminem said he’s “ready” if the president was to attack him.
“It’s a bit odd that he’s admitting to having prepared heavily to take on a 70 year old politician,” the eldest Trump son tweeted. “Probably not the best look. So much for freestyle. #WillTheRealLoserPleaseStandUp,” referencing the rapper’s song, “Real Slim Shady.”
Trump’s tweet came in response to a Vulture interview with 45-year-old Eminem where he admitted he wants the president to hear what he has to say about him in his new album, “Revival,” because he has “ideas for all kinds of shit to say back to him if he does.”
When asked if he was worried about losing fans due to the political tone in his new album, he responded: “I’m not worried about whether people like what I say politically.”
“I just want to know they’re listening,” he added. “As long as I have people’s ears, I have to say what I think is right.”
The rapper previously took a swing at the president in October in a freestyle rap that debuted during the 2017 BET Awards. It did not earn a response from the White House.
