A distraught man was saved after throwing himself off a high-rise building after splitting up with his girlfriend of five years.
While sat on the edge of the building's roof the 22-year-old told firefighters he no longer wanted to live.
They called the girlfriend, who eventually agreed to come, in a desperate bid to talk the man down.
During a tense stand off, and with his girlfriend watching on, the man leapt over the edge.
Quick-thinking firefighters raced to the edge and grabbed on to the man's clothing.
Despite his intense kicking and shouting for them to let him go, the man was dragged back over to safety.
The incident took place on the roof of a six-storey building in Wenzhou City in eastern China.
Local fire service team leader Li Zheng and his colleagues were sent to the scene.
The group was split into two, with one remaining on the ground and the other sent to the roof to speak to the young man.
