President Trump’s golf game surprised even professional golfers over the holiday break, keeping up with the PGA players through the first nine holes. Fred and Taylor Funk, a father-son professional duo, told CNN on Tuesday that the president shocked them with the quality of his play.
“[His game] was good. He shot a legit 36 on the front 9,” Taylor Funk said. “I was really surprised.”
The golfer added however that Trump’s game faltered in the later holes, after he “got a little tired.” Still, Funk said, the president played “decent” on the back nine.
The report from the golfers lends credence to Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) claim that Trump shot a 73 “in windy and wet conditions.”
