A prisoner has been sprayed in the face and badly beaten inside a cell by a gang of fellow inmates.
Footage, recorded inside HMP Forest Bank, shows prisoner Michael Bell being brutally attacked and was uploaded to the internet from behind bars.
Bosses at the Salford prison say the incident has been referred to Greater Manchester Police.
But the prisoner’s family is demanding answers and say they cannot understand how the prisoners managed to target Bell, film the attack and upload it to the internet undetected, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Bell, 24, has previous convictions and was recalled back to prison last year after breaching the terms of a court order.
His sister Catherine Chapman says her brother only revealed details of the attack to her after she saw the footage circulated online.
