This is the moment an armed robber fled a convenience store empty-handed after being outsmarted by a shopkeeper with a plastic stool.
Purvesh Patel grabbed the yellow stool that was behind the counter after being confronted by the hooded raider wielding an 8ins bladed knife.
Mr Patel, 35, made several lunges at the offender with the light-weight seat while also having the presence of mind to slam the till shut and hit the store's panic button.
He then left the store with another staff member who was working in the shop at the time.
The bungling robber then ran around the counter and failed miserably to open the till , resorting to pressing random buttons in an attempt to access the cash inside.
