Impatient van driver mounts kerb to overtake bin lorry - nearly taking out binman in process

This is the shocking moment a binman came close to being flattened by a van when an impatient driver mounted the pavement to get past a dustcart.



The video, taken from cameras mounted on the back of the lorry, shows the worker was standing in the road doing his job when the van suddenly speeds past - knocking the bin out of his hands.



After being apparently clipped in the near-miss the refuse collector looks stunned and rubs his shoulder.



But the van driver speeds off.



The binman then appears to complain to his colleagues about the incredible close brush with death before getting on with his job.
