Shocking CCTV footage has been released showing the moment a man allegedly grabbed a young child and bundled her into his car in broad daylight.
The FBI have issued the clip in the hope that they can get some more information surrounding the incident.
The video was captured on a building's outdoor CCTV cameras and shows a man getting out of his red Ford Explorer sport-utility vehicle and loitering around it on December 20 last year.
Next a child can be seen walking along the pavement.
But as she goes to pass the man he blocks her way, grabs her and forces her into his car.
After checking it over he then drives off where it is alleged the child was assaulted in an alleyway.
The footage is just seconds long and shows how quickly something like this can happen.
Commenting on the video the FBI said: "FBI Chicago is seeking information regarding a kidnapping that occurred in the area of 153rd Street and Burnham Avenue in Calumet City, Illinois, on December 20, 2017.
"If you have any information regarding the vehicle and/or individual seen in the video below on this date or any dates prior please contact the FBI Chicago Field Office."
CBS Chicago reports that Bryan Protho from Indiana has been charged with kidnapping for allegedly abducting the child in broad daylight.
It also reports that Protho parked the vehicle in an alley and allegedly assaulted the child.
But she managed to escape and flag down a passing car before calling the police.
Protho, 38, was arrested on December 27 and remains in custody.
The charge can see him serve 20 years in prison or even a life sentence, if he is found guilty.
