Jesus Amarillas, a DACA recipient who has been working legally for four years, said that he actually has found comfort in what Trump has said recently about only deporting unauthorized immigrants who have a criminal record.
“If you’re not a drug dealer, rapist, criminal, why are you even worried?” Amarillas said. “You keep working hard, you keep paying your taxes, you keep doing good things, stay away from crime, and you’re going to stay good.”
In fact, anyone with a criminal record probably isn’t benefitting from DACA because there are very strict rules that recipients must follow.
