President Trump told a crowd in Cincinnati, Ohio on Monday that Democrats’ refusal to applaud his State of the Union was “treasonous” and “un-American.”
“[Democrats] would rather see Trump do badly, ok, than our country do well,” he said. “It’s very selfish.”
The president told the crowd that he wouldn’t even look at the Democrats at a certain point in the speech, saying they had “bad energy.”
“They were like death and un-American,” he commented.
“Somebody said treasonous,” Trump added, half-jokingly. “I mean, yeah, why not?”
“Can we call that treason? Why not? I mean they certainly didn’t seem to love our country very much,” he continued.
