RSPCA hunt man filmed 'hitting defenceless puppy and dragging it along pavement'

The RSPCA is hunting a man who appeared to drag and then hit a defenceless puppy as he walked it down the street.



The "upsetting" video was captured by a passer-by who then handed the footage in to police.



It shows a gold-coloured dog limping along the pavement while holding its rear leg in the air.



The man who is walking the dog appears to reach down and hit the puppy on the head with the handle of his lead as it cowers in terror.



The scene took place on a residential street in Kingstanding, Birmingham, on Thursday.



And an investigation has been launched after police got in touch with the animal charity.
