A heartbroken mother set off a flare in protest of mental health service cuts after her daughter committed suicide.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Bristol Post her 19-year-old daughter was "failed" by social services".
She said this then led to her taking her own life last Friday.
Heartbroken by the death of her child, the mum set off a red flare in the Bristol City Council chamber during its annual budget meeting on Tuesday.
She wanted to make a stand against cuts to mental health spending.
