A dad has spoken about the "chilling" moment an arsonist torched his van right underneath his five-year-old daughter’s bedroom window.
Glazier Ryan Betts said that he and wife, Alix, wish they had not watched the footage of a hooded man deliberately setting the blaze.
The pair were watching TV in bed at their home in Leicester when neighbours banged on their front door alerting them to the fire at around 9.15pm on Monday.
Flames leapt from the panel of lights on the van’s rear, leading firefighters who turned up to believe it was due to an electrical fault.
But a neighbour’s CCTV captured images of a hooded man walking up to the vehicle and spraying it with a flammable liquid, before setting it alight and running off.
