On Thursday, ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today show highlighted Andrew Pollack, the father of 18-year-old Stoneman Douglas High School shooting victim Meadow Pollack, talking to President Trump during an emotional White House listening session on Wednesday on preventing such mass killings. However, both network broadcasts chose to edit out Pollack telling the President “It’s not about gun laws right now.”
“President Trump confronts the heartbreak and anger of grieving parents,” co-host George Stephanopoulos announced at the top of GMA. During a later report, Chief White House Correspondent Jon Karl described: “President Trump sat silently as one after another students and parents of shooting victims pleaded for action.”
