Russian pensioner Gennadii Valyaev took his SsangYong Actyon SUV off the streets of Saint Petersburg and into one of the city’s metro entrances on Wednesday.
The reason? Apparently, just to "see if it would fit."
The pensioner reportedly waited until the coast was clear before driving his car into the underpass. Upon discovering he’d got himself a one-way ticket to being stuck, Valyaev saw the bright side of the situation and cranked up his music to make the most of the acoustics in the underpass.
Emergency workers have removed the offending vehicle and the Petersburg Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation.
