This is the incredible moment a woman saved an unborn monkey's life by performing a C-section when its mother was killed in a car accident.
Despite having no medical training, Padtama Kedkuerviriyanon, 36, remembered her own child's birth, grabbed a sharp knife and cut the baby out if its dead mother.
Padtama, who sells monkey food to tourists in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand, saw the heavily pregnant monkey get knocked over by a tourist car outside a temple.
“At that moment, I thought to myself the baby monkey would be dying inside its dead mother if I didn’t do anything to help save it,” Padtama told the Bangkok Post .
As she performed the caesarean, her relative filmed the operation on a smartphone and they squealed in excitement when they saw the baby monkey's head appear.
