Tiger Woods wraps his club around a tree as he blasts out of the woods at Valspar Championship for par save
Tiger Woods was back at his creative best Thursday ... when he was deep into the woods.
After pulling his tee shot on the 475 yard, par 4 16th into the trees left of the fairway, Woods – who shot a 1-under-par 70 in the first round - had a narrow chute to try to reach the green in the first round of the Valspar Championship.
After surveying his options and moving the huge galleries out of harm’s way, Woods - standing precariously close to a tree - blasted a low shot out toward the green nearly 180 yards away, while letting go of the club as the shaft flexed off the tree, nearly breaking in two, and landing about 20 feet away. Woods then chipped up and putted for one all-world par.
It certainly looks like the healthy Tiger has his growl back with the Masters a month way.
