Dimwitted thieves trying to steal laptops and other pricey gear from a Costco were caught red-handed by police who were waiting for them as they made their getaway.
Store attendants inside the Seattle cash and carry tipped off police after they recognised one of the suspects inside and said he had previously stolen items in the past and run out the fire exit.
Officers responded to the store on Wednesday at 5.30pm local time and soon discovered a black Toyota occupied by a female driver which was backed up to the emergency doors.
The officers pulled their patrol vehicle in front of the Toyota to prevent it from leaving and then lay in wait for the thieves.
