A gang of thugs armed with hammers and a crowbar smashed their way into a family home before dragging an 11-year-old boy through the house and spraying liquid in the face of a pensioner, according to police.
They also threatened a teenage girl before ransacking the home and making off with sentimental jewellery.
In the terrifying ordeal, the young boy was dragged through the house to the lounge where the gang threatened violence if they did not hand over their valuables.
The burglars , all in their mid-20s, squirted an 81-year-old man in the face with a liquid before a teenage girl was taken upstairs and forced to hand over her jewellery.
During the 6pm ordeal on March 5, one of the men kept the family in the lounge and threatened to take their mobile phones as the other three ransacked the home, stuffing jewellery into the girl's black schoolbag.
But in the chaos one of the victims was able to call a family friend who alerted police to the burglary in Chislehurst, south-east London.
