An unfinished TV tower reaching over 220-metres in height (720ft) was demolished in the city of Ekaterinburg on Saturday.
The structure was caved in, causing part of the tower to collapse onto a specially designed "pillow". The rest of the tower is set to be dismantled over the next two weeks.
The construction of a tower expected to be 361-metre-high (1,184ft) began in the late 1980s. However, the project was frozen in 1991 after funding was stopped.
After the demolition of the TV tower, a new ice rink will reportedly be constructed in its place.
