A man whose leg was ripped off by a shark when he was a teenager has survived another terrifying encounter with the predator 20 years later.
Mike Coots, then 18, was boogie boarding in waters off Hawaii when a tiger shark grabbed him by his right leg and bit it clean off in a blood-drenched attack.
Despite the horrifying injury, Mike, now 38, became a shark conservationist which sees him regularly dive with beasts in shark-infested hotspots across the world to raise awareness.
On March 7, Mike filmed a terrifyingly close-up video of a Great White's gaping jaws at Stewart Island, off the coast of New Zealand.
