A widower who tried to engage in explicit online chats with underage girls has been sentenced after he was rumbled by a group of vigilante paedeophile hunters.
Philip Beer, 64, contacted two girls he believed were Abbi, 14, from Manchester and Amelie, 13, from Nottingham last year.
After finding them online the pensioner's conversation quickly turned to sex, despite both of them telling him they were underage and didn't understand what he was saying.
But unbeknownst to him both girls' profiles were fake and operated by vigilante group Dark Light.
