This is the terrifying moment a school bus drives across a rail crossing - missing a freight train by a mere two seconds.
The driver of the 2,000-tonne locomotive watched on helplessly as the bus crossed the track in the northern Hobart suburb of Brighton on Monday morning, during the busy school-run hour.
TasRail described the bus driver's failure to give way to the freight train as 'seriously stupid and reckless'.
