The activist movement Black Lives Matter held a 'Stop the Cop' rally in Washington DC on Wednesday. After a short rally and a number of speeches, the crowd marched through the nation's capital and managed to blocked traffic during rush hour.
The event was dedicated to Terrence Sterling, an African American killed by a DC police officer. Brian Trainer, who fired the fatal shots, is currently challenging his dismissal through a review panel board.
Activists demanded that city officials hold law enforcement to account for killing black men and women. Anything other could be considered "systematic racism" in their view.
