These were the dramatic scenes today as troops from across the world descended on Salisbury Plain as part of Europe's biggest military exercise.
Thousands of military personnel from 17 countries are taking part in this year's mammoth Exercise Joint Warrior, which runs for two weeks.
Today, the British Army 's airborne forces took to the chalk plateau, around 12 miles north of Salisbury, Wiltshire, as they participated.
Video footage shows troops 'fighting' at the scene with a helicopter flying above.
They tested their ability to fight alongside mechanized infantry from "key" European and NATO allies in what could have been seen as a warning to Vladimir Putin .
