Police officers removed from duty after video emerged of a man being hit with a baton during an arrest have been cleared of any wrongdoing.
An investigation by the police watchdog found that "necessary, proportionate and reasonable" force was used on the man as he was detained by the plained-clothed officers in Aston, Birmingham, in July last year.
Footage showed a man being kicked in the leg by one of the officers, sprayed by incapacitant spray and struck several times with a baton.
During the video a hoodie-wearing man asked plain-clothed cops to move, saying: “You’re in my face, move away.”
