A Tesla electric car battery reignited in a storage warehouse six days after it was removed from a fiery crash which killed the driver, it has been revealed.
The Model X's high-voltage lithium-ion battery was removed from the smouldering in Mountain View, California, on March 23.
The driver Walter Huang, 38, died after the car plowed into a concrete barrier on Highway 101. His family says he was using the car's autopilot feature at the time.
He was removed from the car and taken to hospital before it caught on fire, but the wreckage continued to smoulder after fire fighters put it out.
