This is the incredible moment a shopkeeper fights off a wannabe thief armed with a baseball bat before a group of bystanders use a trolley to make a dramatic citizen's arrest.
CCTV footage, obtained by 9 News, captured the moment the thug walked into the store and began striking the shop owner with a bat across the counter.
The attempted armed robbery occurred at about 7pm on Saturday at a milk bar on Coleman Road in Melbourne's east.
