A sickening game that encourages players to recreate a mass shooting inside a US high school has been branded appalling by charities.
The game, called Active Shooter, will be available to buy and download from the Steam platform on PCs next month.
Described as "realistic", it allows players to take on either the role of a high school shooter or a SWAT officer tasked with bringing them down.
"Pick your role, gear up and fight or destroy! Be the good guy or the bad guy. The choice is yours! Only in "Active Shooter", you will be able to pick the role of an Elite S.W.A.T member or the actual shooter," reads the game's description.
However, the online backlash against the game has been severe - particularly in the US which has already experienced 22 school shootings already in 2018.
