Alec Ross, a Democratic candidate for governor in Maryland, engaged in an embarrassing, unhinged rant on the Trump administration at a primary debate on Tuesday.
“Donald Trump is a vulgar, demented pig demon,” Ross began. The candidate caught himself beginning to chuckle at his own over-the-top statement.
“When I’m governor and you are crossing from Donald Trump’s Washington into Maryland, you’re entering into the resistance,” he added.
The gubernatorial candidate then insulted the men and women of Immigration and Customs Enforcement while defending the presence of illegal immigrants in Maryland. Ross told the crowd he would work to protect “our citizens and guests from the thugs in ICE.”
As a contrast to the Trump administration, Maryland should set up a more progressive government, he said.
