Armed police are responding to reports of gunshots at a Las Vegas hotel.
Journalists at the scene have filmed police arriving at the The Westin Hotel.
A Westin Hotel staff member told The Mirror: "Everybody is just being asked to stay put in their rooms.
"We have not been told anything yet."
Reports of the incident emerged at about 3am Saturday morning local time (11am GMT).
Channel Seven Australia journalist Chris Garry tweeted: "Cops yelling out... Gunshots?!!!! Gunshots!!!? Have you heard them. Scene in Las Vegas right now.
"More than 15 cop cars at The Westin all rushing inside shotguns ready.
"Reports of gunshots."
There is a big Australian media contingent in the gambling capital today.
Journalists are in town to cover Aussie boxer Jeff Horn's WBO welterweight championship defence against Terence Crawford.
The pair are due to square off on Saturday night.
KTNV anchor Lesley Marin said: "Police have told us there is no sign of a shooter or victim, but we're looking into this."
"Early reports from police is there is no sign of a shooter or victim and they are conducting a "welfare check" now. We are still looking into this."
