Vile footage showing cruel yobs hurling rocks at fleeing seals has been shared by a conservation group.
The video shows three youths moving a sign on St Mary’s Island Nature Reserve in North Tyneside, before approaching a seal and causing the animal distress.
The seal plunges from the high rocks onto the shore to escape to the safety of the water, but the thugs then start throwing rocks at other animals.
St Mary’s Seal Watch has now released footage of the incident, which took place at around 9pm on June 9 and shows the youngsters filming the harassment of wildlife on their mobile phones.
A spokesman for the group said: “This footage is not to name and shame the individuals but to highlight some of the problems the wildlife faces on the reserve.
