Hero passengers were forced to step in as a man launched a violent attack on a Virgin train conductor, leaving him with injuries to his face.
The male passenger appeared to square up to the employee and argue with him, before allegedly punching him, Birmingham Live reports.
A witness on board filmed the shocking altercation, which broke out as the train manager walked down an aisle during an evening service.
The dramatic episode happened on the 8.50pm Virgin service between Birmingham New Street station and Euston station in London on Tuesday.
